    A History of the Arab Spring

    explores the roots of the social protest movements that spread across North Africa and the Middle East in 2011, toppling several leaders and shaking the authoritarian systems of domination. Our analyses of these transformative events will situate developments in specific countries into broader historical and comparative contexts. We will also pay close attention to the widening, and increasingly intersecting, conflicts that have since engulfed the region.
